Deputy Prime Minister takes part in Takeover Day 2011

Nick Clegg invited two London students to 'take over' his office yesterday for Children's Commissioner's Takeover Day 2011.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Takeover Day gives children and young people the chance to work with adults for the day and be involved in decision-making. Naomi and Caprice worked with Nick Clegg on next week’s Deputy Prime Minister’s Questions, contributed to a policy discussion and shared their views in a communications brainstorm.

Nick Clegg said of Takeover Day 2011:

This is a fantastic initiative. I visit schools around the country and I am always struck by how bright, imaginative and articulate Britain’s children and young people are. They are this country’s most valuable asset and I’m looking forward to seeing them give the adults a run for our money.
